1  SFI Network / Franciscans / Re: Class of 2005..^^ on: May 10, 2006, 01:09:33 AM
Was from 5 Hijau '05.

Have to say that my last year in SFI is the most fun and memorable one. Got involve into lots of things despite it being an exam year.
But most importantly enjoyed the "life" in class generally la. Loved the way we kept tembak-ing the teachers and yet they played along anyway haha. Was fun, really fun. That why got a full attendance for that year  Cheesy. wouldnt want to miss a day of it.

i dont know much about other uniform bodies but I myself was a scout.

I will have to say that if you're looking for serious leadership training, scouts would be your best choice. At the beginning, it might be very tiring and "torturing". Probably when you're in form 1 - 3. That i would refer as the "training and following" stage. Later on, you'll proceed to the "leading" stage, where you'll get involve in the process of planning and running events like camps, combine meets or even campfires.

But then again, whether or not you get the chance to lead all depends on you formative years, meaning the "training and following" stage (form 1 - 3). If you're hardworking, responsible and can show your committee members that you're capable of leading and being persistent, then you'll flourish and oportunities will start pouring in.

I myself was very fortunated as I was given lots of opportunity to lead various events and people. And that had helped me alot. It had made me more mature and also gave me various leadership skills which will indeed come in handy during stressful times.

Also by joining scouts you'll be able to learn to be independent, aswell as various useful skills and knowledge. Just remember not to stop getting involve. Join every single camp available and try learning from your seniors when ever possible. It takes time but the fruit in the end is indeed sweet.

Lastly, remember that before you can lead, you must learn to be lead.

As for other uniform bodies, don't know much but you might want to consider entering the military band. By the end of form 5, at least you can play an instrument or 2 eh? No comment about the others though.

But have to say that whichever uni unit u choose to join, the most imporatnt thing is to get involve and stay active. Not to ponteng here and there  Roll Eyes

Football for its excitement.
Badminton for its pace and power.
Swimming as it helped me lose some weight  Cheesy

Not much to comment as i always believe that Malaysia has a faulty Education system. Too exam orientated and not much effort is being done on the humanity and spirituality side.

But not to worry people. Regardless of what the gov say, i still believe that the number of straight As students will remain high. All depends ont he graph yea?
5  SFI Network / Academic / Re: Which is more important?? on: May 10, 2006, 12:40:38 AM
For me the most important element would be quality life.

Quality life meaning you lead a life you're happy with. Meaning you need not force yourself to do something you dislike. For example, having a job you enjoy doing regardless of the $$$ involve.
Quality life also meaning having a good and stable emotional and physical state. That you have happiness and health at the same time, not enjoying yourself here but having a tumour deep inside your skull.
But contradictiong to most people, money is secondary to me.

So... yea that's basically it.
6  SFI Network / General Discussion / Kudos for this forum. on: May 10, 2006, 12:33:20 AM
Thumbs up to the webmaster for setting up this forum.

Like mentioned, it looks professional and nice, unlike those kiddy kinda homepage. So yea, well done.
Another thing you might want to consider doing is to publicise this forum. Surely wouldn't be much of a problem. Try getting the class monitors to announce it in classes. Or have somebody up the stage talk about this forum and publicize it.

Hopefully this forum will continue to live and serve as a platform for current and former franciscans to express their views and opinions thourhg tthe cyber world.

Well done again.

Hello people,

After reading through all the posts in this topic, cant help but to feel ashamed and disgusted.

It's a shame really that you people  can actually debate about which class being the "best". Probably the best way to start is to ask ourselves' what's the definition of "best" itself. Having great chess players means best? Having the best teachers(again the definition of "best" being questioned)? And wat the heck, dragon year? monkey year? Good results? nahhh... not for me.... I might be wrong but aren't you guys concentrating a little too much on individuality instead of looking at the whole CLASS thing generally? But then again, it's rather impossible to determine which is the "best". Doubt it even exist because different people will tell you different things eh?

Right... before you 5 Hijau '05 people start flaming me, I will like to state that I myself is from 5 Hijau '05 okay? Actually had the privillege of leading the class if you know what i mean. I myself have to admit that 5H'05 is not that perfect afterall. If you have to know, the class' mindset is rather bad. Most 5H'05 people's mind is set on themselves. Kinda deep i know, but in short let's just say that the sellfish-ness and kiasuism is on the high. Just my humble observation though, no offence. Still alot of flaws here and there but I'll not get to it.

And for you 2H people, perhaps there's still a long way for you to go. Maybe the first step u might wanna take is to learn to respect other people. Other people as in not just your seniors or anything but also to your teachers and peers alike, or if u like towards everybody.

And please, do not even start talking about SFI's image, reputation, spirit, or watever it is. I don't see how this topic is ever gonna lead us to that.

Tats all for now.
Peace and bye.
